Dark Original Gargoyles - Marty Turco, Dallas Stars, NHL, 2009-2010
The story
This is Marty Turco's mask design for the black uniform of the Dallas Stars. The design goes in the same spirit as Marty's mask for the white uniform with white base color. The new more cruel Gargoyles that David created for that design are here recreated in golden tints with black base color, which results in really strong contrasts.
The Gargoyles are sitting on the effectful wall made of DAVEART XXFX GoldChrome, and around the creatures David has created gold-yellow fire flames that make the Gargoyles really pop out. Same thing with the skull on the forehead.
On the chin Dallas' alternate logo is painted with DAVEART XXFX DiamondGlitter in different color tints. The number on the chin, together with graphic lines inspired from Dallas black jersey, frame the design below.
The whole creates a tremendously effective and frightening design with strong profile, spiced up with extreme detail work and DAVEART Holographix FX.
