KSAM REDRUM - Richard Bachman, Dallas Stars, NHL, 2012
David about the design:
It was so awesome to create this mask for you Richard!
I love to think outside the box, to do new stuff and explore new styles and new concepts.
This may be one of the most scary mask I´ve ever created... We wanted the mask to have the same uncomfortable feeling you have when you just wake up after a nightmare..... Richard and I made a lot of thinking and brainstorming for this artwork. It is a tribute to Stephen King, because he sometimes also use the name Richard Bachman when he writes.
To make it even more scary we decided to use only one color all over the mask, and it is all painted in a scary mix of calm paint and an uncomfortable feeling all over the mask. It is all created with old school airbrush paint mixed with oil paint tech.
The left side has just an evil sinister feeling, and if you look close into the star you find the same carpet as in the hotel! On the right side we present the rage.
And just as usual it is so packed with details and messages and meanings all over the mask, so the mask enters a new dimension when you come closer...
Thank you for your interest.
