My Dryden Tribute - Michal Zajkowski, Modo Hockey, Elitserien, 2008-2009
The story
Michal told David about his visit to Hockey Hall Of Fame in Toronto, where he got to see Ken Dryden's classic hockey mask. Michal then got the idea to have that mask as his own mask. So Michal mailed photos to David, who immediately started the work.
David painted ears and hair, and he put lot of weight into the details, as always. Check out the small cracks and the glass fibre material, just like the original. The mask was painted exactly like Dryden's classic mask.
On each side of the mask David painted the stars from Modo's club logo, to get the connection to the team. The stars are painted to look a little worn out, like on an old mask.
The whole became a classically created design, where Dryden himself is standing there between the goal posts in Örnsköldsvik...
