Lenny Lion The Country Star - Pekka Rinne, Nashville Predators, NHL, 2008-2009
The story
Pekka had seen David's paintings for other NHL goalies, and decided that David should paint his new mask! Here you can check out the result!
Pekka told David he wanted a lion in some way, as the Finnish lion he is...! David sketched a number of lions and came up with the idea to make the lion as a country star, to get some Nashville theme. Said and done, Pekka liked the idea and David started to paint! The lion with cowboy hat and Finland-painted guitar plays so the strings flies!
Around this David has weaved a classic and in the same time modern design that breathes Nashville Predators to 100%. The awesome skull logo is painted on the side with blue base, while the other side has a silver base and Nashvilles antenna logo. The choice of colours are carefully made to get maximum effect and contrasts to the whole, so that the design is well seen from far.
All tones are painted with metallic effects, and in the metallic layers David has weaved in cool patterns, for example composite pattern, that give a great exclusive 3D depth to the whole.
On the chin the nickname rules, and around this David has painted graphics inspired by the team uniform. And as always in david's paintings, details, details and details, there are no shortcuts to an awesome design!
