Predators in DownTown Nashville - Dan Ellis, Nashville Predators, NHL, 2008-2009
The story
Dan's mask design from last season, with the cool Predators sabre toothed pussycats on adventure, was a big success in NHL... So of course Dan wanted a continuation on his new mask!
Dan is a skilled drawer himself, so he send his own thoughts sketched on paper to David. David immediately jumped on to the project and started create!
On one side David paintred a predator, pumped up and muscular, ready for action! This is how Dan looks before a game you see! David also painted a Nashville environment in the background, the predator walks through downtown Nashville.
On the other side the predator is painted as Dan feels after a game, totally exhausted...! He's so worn out you can even see the ribs...
The buildings on the lower part of the mask is painted in blue, the buildings on upper part i spainted in gray, and the sky in blue, everything to fit perfect with the Nashville uniform. One of the buildings on the chin is painted in purple, just like in real! Details, details, and details, as always in David's paintings...
On the chin you see Dan's number made in the same style the local TV station's logo...a funny detail!
In the front Nashville's cool logo rules and adds a bit of graphics to the whole.
The entire design is painted in cool glittering metallic to strengthen the contrasts.
All this together creates a really detailed design, where you discover new things all the time. Each colour tint is carefully chosen to give maximum contrasts and to bring out the design to the max!
