Boone da Fisher Dude - Peter Mannino, New York Islanders, NHL, 2008-2009
The story
Peter had a fun idea for his new mask design. He had seen and heard about David Gunnarsson's paint art and decided he was the guy that was going to paint his new mask...!
On his mask Peter wanted a lighthouse, and in it he wanted a fisherman, in the shape of his school's mascot. So David dressed the mascot in a fisherman's coat and hat...! He happily waves to the crowd...
The rest of the design was created in a graphical spirit. The New York Islanders logo is painted on one side, with cool 3D effects and white base, which gives perfect contrasts that makes the design appear very well from a long distance. On the lower side the design is framed by graphical lines symbolizing Islanders' Stanley Cup triumphs!
On the other side the Bridgeport clob logo actually tears the sheet metal apart! Maxxed with 3D and action. Details, details and details, as always in David's paintings.
And also check out all the cool composite patterns that David has painted between the layers of metallic, giving even more maxxed depth...
On the chin the name puts even more personal touch to the whole, in this airy and graphical design.
