America's Heart - Blue Version - Jose Theodore, Washington Capitals, NHL, 2008-2009
The story
Jose told David that he wanted a design with lots of details. And David who just loves detail work, simply said a dream assignment for David!
Jose wanted a theme about Washington, with eagles and famous buildings... David cudgeled his brains and presented this idea for Jose, who really liked it!
On each side of the mask an American eagle is painted, grabbing the White House and Capitoleum! Full of action, the white eagle is grabbing USA! The buildings are painted in graphic style.
On the sides the script logo gives a graphical touch to the whole. The mask goes in red on the sides, and on one side you can see the Lincoln statue reflected while you on the other side see the soldier statue.
Around this graphic stars taken from the logotype are dancing around. On the chin the club logo is enthroned.
The blue base makes all motifs stand out in a cool way, and gives maximum contrasts. A maximum of 3D effects and cool patterns painted in between the layers of metallic make this design a tremendously detailed one, as all David's paintings...
Graphical parts are incorporated in the design, as the red line below, inspired by the team uniform. Simple strokes that deliver weight.
The backplate is a story of its own about extreme detail work.
