The story
When it was time for Mikael Tellqvist to get a new mask design he wanted something really different than before. Before it has been beautiful sedate tribute designs with old hockey legends.
So what is totally opposite to this...
When Mikael called David he was in a bathroom store to check out a new bathtub, so this design idea was thought out among sinks, bathtubs and toilets...!
On this mask Wil E Coyote turns up as a goalie! This crazy coyote known from the movies... Perfect for a goalie in Phoenix Coyotes..right!? So Wil is a goalie, on the entire mask, holding the catcher on one side and the stick on the other side. Everything of course in the red Phoenix colour! And look, he's faced a number of shots to the face, and the puck has stuck in his mouth...! Maximum action.
The background is painted in light desert style to get perfect contrasts so that Wil really pops out. In the background a lot of details can be seen, as always in David's paintings...cactuses, mountains, and an ACME rocket, as always in these films... Soon it's gonna explode. Surely launced by that crazy bird that shows up on the other side...!
On the chin the PHX logo rules and adds its touch on this design, that breathes Phoenix Coyotes to the max!
