Hurricanes Hog Hockey 2 da Max - Mike Leighton, Carolina Hurricanes, NHL, 2008-2009
The story
Oh man no, that poor Carolina hog is stuck in a hurricane, he's terrified by the spinning! Holy smokes, around him also pucks and hockey mask and stick are spinning...
The design is a direct or indirect continuation of Leighton's mask from last season, that you of course can check out here in DAVEART NHL MaskGallery.
The hog is a mascot for Carolina Hurricanes, check him out under Bonus...! On one side it full of action with the hog, perfect contrasts make the hog pop out to the max, always important.
On the other side David has created a clean cool graphic with Carolina's logotypes. Big in focus is the secondary logo, and around this lots of mini logos are spinning, it's the hurricane that messes up the entire mask...!
The silverish base on this side and the red base on the other side create a cool contrast effect when the mask is turned from side to side, a smart effect that raises the whole on a hockey mask!
Everywhere you find details, as always in David paintings. Composite pattern is painted between the layers of metallic, which gives a fantastic cool 3D depth to the whole.
On the chin the nickname adds more personal touch. Everything is framed by graphical lines inspired by the team uniform, to deliver the coolest Carolina mask!
