Terminator Gargoyles - Marty Turco, Dallas Stars, NHL, 2008-2009
The story
Marty Turco's Gargoyle designs by his mask painter David Gunnarsson have been great successes since the first one made its entrance three years ago. Marty had seen and heard about David's art and decided to choose him as his mask painter.
Marty really liked the previous version, so this is a direct continuation, in a much darker style... The gargoyles stand at attention on each side, guarding the goal, no pucks are welcome here!
The gargoyles appear in new form, as Terminator gargoyles! Here and there you see their robot bodies behind the skin...
One of the dudes also has an integrated shotgun on the helmet, creative creatures... And the other one's foot is melting a bit, just like one of the Terminators in one of the films...
This design has black background, since it's created for Dallas Stars' black unifor. And if you look close in the black, you can see a lot of robot-like parts here and there... As always in David's paintings, details, details and details...
The silver chromed stone wall with the Dallas star integrated in XXFX-glitter i the final touch that makes this maskdesign one of today's most spectacular. On the wall you can see the names of Marty's three children.
On the chin the number in sheet metal style, and even more robot details in the background. And check out the backplate, the Dallas skyline!
