Mr Potatohead the Pirate - Drew MacIntyre, Milwaukee Admirals, AHL, 2008-2009
The story
Drew had a very funny idea for his new design. He wanted to have Mr Potatohead on his mask, as a pirate of course, just look at the team logo...
David thought it was a really cool idea and started the work with big excitement. The potato rules on one side, with the sabre ready. In the silverish base David painted sky effects with clouds and stars, which gives a nice depth to the whole. The silverish base used on the entire mask also gives perfect contrasts that brings out the design.
In the forehead the strongly graphical team logo. Everything is painted with much contrasts and 3D effects and between the layers of metallic cool patterns are painted. Details, details and again details, as always in David's paintings...
On the other side of the mask the profile is strongly graphical. Here Drew's family coat of arms rules. Tranquilly painted by David with lots of 3D effects. The entire design is then framed by graphical lines inspired by the team uniform.
On the chin a crucifix and a pennant with Drew's favourite bible word add piece.
On the backplate you find cool bears that symbolize Drew's family.
